Eat Eggs Lose Weight
Posted on March 17th, 2009 No commentsI have hens and of course get about 7-10 eggs per day. I have been eating eggs for breakfast since beginning my diet with positive effect. Nice surprise to see that research back up my own experience. Thanks to my girls. Cluck!

Eat Eggs for Weight LossBy WLR Dietitian
Juliette Kellow BSc RD
Going to work on a couple of eggs might be the way forward if you want
to shift those pounds. According to new research from the
Rochester Centre for Obesity in America, eating eggs for
breakfast could help to limit your calorie intake throughout the
rest of the day, by more than 400 calories. In the study, 30 overweight or obese women ate either an
egg-based breakfast (2 eggs) or a bagel-based breakfast, containing the
same amount of calories and almost identical levels of protein.
The researchers recorded the women’s eating habits and found
that just before lunch, the women who had eaten eggs for
breakfast felt less hungry and ate a smaller lunch as a result.
Better still, over the next 36 hours the group eating the
egg-containing breakfast consumed, on average, 417 calories less
than the bagel-eating group.

God and losing weight
Posted on March 14th, 2009 3 comments
Can God help me lose weight? Well why not, if I ask then I will receive so they say. So perhaps a little prayer might go some way to boosting my commitment energy levels. But wait a wee minute – I don’t mean that you or I should pray for weight loss and then say to myself “Oh well, ‘The Big Yin’ will take care of it all so I’ll do zilcho.” It doesn’t work that way. Not at least in my humble non religious opinion. Asking for courage, strength, motivation and support will maybe help.

Make no mistake here, the universe is powerful thing; its harmony and majestic beauty speaks for itself. Perhaps if allow myself to step back into the magic; to bring my health and eating equations into the synergy and symmetry of the universe’s blueprint, then maybe it will make a big difference.
I really don’t think that a wee man with a big beard sits up in the sky manipulating things to happen just because I turned up at church one day when I was desperate. But I do think that nature has a certain poetry which can guide me if care to listen.
