Hi, thanks for revisiting my blog - I very much appreciate your support and your interest. If you havent already done so, why not subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks again Al

Well folks, I am here in Dubai for a few days work and all is well on the food front. I havent got on the scales for a while buthave dropped a size and a half on trousers and one on shirts – so I am pretty happy with that.

Time to up the excercise since I feel more energy now and walking at a good pace.

Since I have cut out wheat I have had no asthma, bloated feeling or heartburn so my guess is I have an intolerance to Gluten.

Dubai is a shock to the system in many ways – surprising, awesome, interesting, stunning,  and horrible all at once. It is as though some one said “here is a long stretch of ocean with a wonderful beach, now build a city to house as many as possible – money no object.” In fact that is probably exactly what happened. It is not unlike something out of bladerunner without skycars. The building are mostly mega highrise and extremely modern. The tallest building in the world is here. It made me feel dizzy just looking at it. I will post some photos when I get back.

    Al

This Camden on a quiet day

This Camden on a quiet day

Yesterday was a hard day – hardest so far. Went to Camden Market to see my Children which was really great. The place was so overcrowded and by the time we arrived it was lunch time so I was hungry. Have you ever been to Camden Lock? There are more food stalls than you could shake a stick at. There are hundreds of them and every way I looked were people suffing themselves out of silver containers of chinees, japanees. indian, mexican, french, turkish, pizza, chips; the list goes on. So I manged to get through that and had a greek salad in a quiet pub. Then in the evening we had a friends 50th birthday, really nice to be there all dressed in 50’s clothing – Pink laddies and Darren out of Bewitched and women dressed like adverts on TV in that era when women did the housework in their best frock – you know the kindof thing. The food was hard, burgers with bacon, cheese, mushroom, onions, egg and so on. Party sausages, sausage rolls and a chocolate fountain; spare ribs and barbecued chicken. Arrgg. Made it home safely – Will power was all that got me through. I’m staying at home for a month now.122231
